How to Cancel a Booking

All cancellations must be submitted in writing via email.

Effective from the date notification is received during standard UK business hours (9am–5pm, Mon-Fri).

Non-Attendance & Exceptions

Non-Attendance: Failure to attend a booked course without prior written cancellation notice will be treated as a cancellation received 14 days or less before the start date. No refund will be issued.

Exceptional Circumstances: JL Academy may, at its sole discretion, consider exceptions to this policy in genuinely unforeseen and exceptional circumstances, provided suitable evidence is supplied. This does not set a precedent.

Substitutions & Transfers

Substitution of Delegates: If a delegate is unable to attend, a substitute may be nominated at any time up to the start of the course. There is typically no charge for this. Please notify us in writing immediately.

Transferring Bookings: Transfers are subject to availability and discretion.

  • 30+ Days Notice: Transfer usually free of charge (within 6 months).
  • 15–29 Days Notice: Transfer may be permitted but may incur an administrative fee or be treated under the 50% cancellation term.
  • 14 Days or Less: Transfers generally not permitted (0% refund terms apply).

Note: Only one transfer per original booking is permitted.

Cancellation by JL Academy

In the unlikely event that JL Academy must cancel or reschedule a course (e.g., due to instructor illness or insufficient enrolment), we will provide as much notice as possible.

Delegates will be offered the choice of:

  • A Full Refund (100%) of the course fee paid; OR
  • A Transfer to the next available equivalent course date at no additional charge.

JL Academy is not liable for consequential loss (e.g., travel/accommodation costs) incurred by the delegate.
